ISLAM:Many American Muslims do not perform the Sunnah of animal sacrifice and send their money to countries where the need for help is greater

...It is permissible that someone in another country could
perform the sacrifice on one's behalf.
..."In my home country, Egypt, it would have
cost me more than 200 US dollars to buy
a goat," notes Salman, who migrated a year
and a half ago and is now working as a cabbie
in Washington DC.
"I have chosen the Afghan refugees in Pakistan
and for that I have paid only 70 US dollars," he added.
"This not only gives me the satisfaction of helping the
distressed but also some financial relief for myself
for saving more than a hundred dollars."...

...Though there is no official statistics, estimate
suggest some 7-8 million Muslims live in America.
Only 4-5 percent of them are able to perform
the sacrificing ritual in the country and most
of them cannot afford the time and energy
to go to slaughter houses....
