Halal certification and Vietnamese entrepreneurs
In order to provide Vietnamese enterprises with knowledge and information on Halal requirements, Halal certification procedures and Halal certification as a key to accessing Islamic markets, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the EU – Viet Nam MUTRAP III project, held a workshop entitled “Halal Certification-Export Opportunities and Approaches for Vietnamese Entrepreneurs” on 31st May 2011, in Hanoi, and on 8th June 2011 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Chairmen of the workshop were Mr. Chu Thang Trung, Deputy Director General of Asia – Pacific Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam; Mr. Hans Farnhammer, First Secretary, The Delegation of the European Union to Viet Nam; Mr. Mohammed Omar, Director of Halal Certification Agency Viet Nam (HCA Viet Nam); Mr. Shanizam Mohamed, Malaysian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City
